At Summit City Bicycles and Fitness we provide a wide range of services to help you get on the bike of your dreams, and keep it running smooth and efficient.
One of the services we provide is bicycle layaway. This allows you to pick out the bike of your dreams and not have to pay for it in full up front. The layaway is set up so that we will reserve the bike for you while giving you 90 days to pay for it.
This is a great way to ensure that you get the bike you have your eye on. Many stores offer layaway plans and it seems they all have their own process with how it works. So let us take some time to answer some questions about how our layaway works...
Now that I have a bike all picked out, how do I get a layaway set up?
Once a salesperson has helped you decide on the right bike for you, we will need to get some basic information to get you set up as a customer in our computer system. If you have been a customer of ours for a while now, this step will go quickly. If you are new, it only takes a couple short minutes.
How much do I need to pay as a deposit?
We ask that you make a 20% deposit of the total price of the transaction, including tax. This deposit ensures that your name goes on the bike and it will be here for you.
How often do I need to pay on the layaway?
Once the layaway is set up, we ask that you make at least one payment every 30 days. Inactivity (no payment on account for more than 30 days) will result in forfeiture of entire deposit.
How long do I have to pay off my layaway?
You will have 90 days from the time the layaway is set up to pay the remaining balance of the layaway. If the bike is not in stock, then you will have 90 days from the time the bike arrives in our store.
What happens if I need to cancel my layaway?
We understand that sometimes things come up in life and you may need to change or cancel your layaway. If this is the case, we will just keep 15% of the original purchase value as a restocking fee. We do this because model years and availability of products change so quickly in our industry.
What else should I consider?
Now that you have the bike of your dreams, what else should you consider. Here is a simple list of things that will make your ride more enjoyable and your bike run smooth a little longer.
